Have you seen the preview for the new Zombie flick called ‘World War Z‘ yet?  From the trailer we know a few things:

  • World War Z (2013) Movie Poster.

    ZOMBIES!

It appears to be different from the book

  • It’s starring Brad Pitt
  • Zombies are fast like 28 Days/Weeks Later
  • It comes out June of 2013

What do you guys think from what we’ve seen so far?

PS. What the hell is with all the damn ‘Inception Horns’ going off in that trailer?!?!

Miss me yet? Its high time for some new content!

I’ll be back really soon!

I haven’t posted anything worth a damn in like a year or more, which is a lifetime in internet years, and there is no coincidence my daughter is 14 months old.  She’s a real handful and combining that with 6 day weeks at my full time job, it has been hard to find time to write.

Anyways, I have moved back to working 5 days which allows me a whole day to write… who am I kidding, with my daughter Hadlee its more like 15 minutes BUT STILL! More to come soon, thanks for sticking around and reading my reviews.

I really do need your help though, my computer crashed recently and I lost my list of movies to explain in 140 characters!!!  DAMMIT!  Write me all the movies that should be ruthlessly explained in a single twitter post, just leave them in a comment below.  Thanks in advance!

The Vampire – Anatomy of a Movie Killer

Vampire Know Your Enemy

The Vampire has been around for a long time

The Vampire or stories of vampires have been circulating for a long time and each can be slightly different, thus defining the creature in several different ways. From the advent of movies in the silent era we had ‘Nosferatu’ which was made in 1922 starring Max Shreck as Count Orlok a creepy and hideous looking monster/man. As movies progress, film makers keep re-inventing the vampire giving us more traits and a diverse lore of their abilities, where they came from, how they act, and what kills them. Of all the immortal killers, Vampires have the most ways to die and really makes you wonder how they survive for hundreds of years at a time. There are several distinct types or brands of vampires we need to address so lets get started.

Zombie Apocalypse Eh?

So your town is infested with flesh-eating zombies, you’re looking for shelter and you need to figure out a good place and fast! There are really 4 scenarios that come into play when being notified of the zombie outbreak.

  1. All of a sudden there is a zombie in your house or place of business!
  2. You’re sitting around just like any other day but you hear the screams of others.
  3. You are watching the news and see reports of zombies, allowing you to set up a decent shelter.
  4. You’re a stinking rich fanboy of zombie flicks and decide to make a zombie fortress with no signs of an outbreak.

A Zombie Apocalypse is the end of life as we know it, whats the difference?

Funny Movie Traits: The Telephone

If there is one thing we all can identify with, it would certainly have to be the telephone. We all have them and we all use them constantly. The telephone works a little different in movies however. For example if you’re using a land line in your house while something scary is happening, the phone will cut out and you will HAVE to look surprised and horrified as you slowly look at the receiver before placing it down. If you’re on a cell phone at any point of a horror movie, you will have no signal. In movies you never have to say ‘goodbye’, you just hang up the phone after saying anything and that’s good enough. Here are a few oddities involving telephones in movies. Continue reading “Funny Movie Traits: The Telephone” »
