What is Remakes Head to Head
A Head to Head is like a movie review on steroids. This is when we compare a movie that has been remade to the original, write a review for each, and explain the differences. What better way to see what movie is better than to let them battle it out strictly based on the common themes each movie is supposed to deliver?
How is Head to Head Done?
In our Head to Head we examine both movies separately and then combined. The usual occurrence in movie remakes consists on running with the original movies formula or general idea. In order to establish what that is, we have to pick apart both movies and then slap them side by side. Do they match up?
How is Head to Head scored?
After we pick apart the two movies and strip them down to their core ideas and messages, we start scoring. Even the most complex movie out there is really just a few basic messages wrapped in dialog and pretty visuals. What I try to do is pick about 4 of the most prominent messages that are found in both movies. After we get those 4 core messages we also score the two movies on 3 over all movie questions, two of which are the same for every movie (so far).
- Which tells a better over all story?
- Which has more entertaining lead actors?
- Which movie used (genre specific trait. Suspense, Comedy, Mystery, etc..)
