The Plot

Remington, a murderous grifter cons his way into a mother’s heart, putting on a fatherly facade to her cherished son, Nicholas. But the second she leaves for work, a torrent of abuse rains upon the gentle boy. Remington heads out for some hookers and invites his dilettante-child molester-drug-dealer buddy over to abuse Nicholas. In the meantime, the only comfort the boy gets is in confiding with his new pet bunny. Debauchery is at hand but Nicholas is nowhere to be found but someone wearing the mask of the beloved holiday hopper shows up ready to deliver a blood-splattered night of unspeakable carnage.

The Verdict

I woke up today on Easter Sunday and wondered loudly on the web if there was a killer Easter bunny movie and @MintyPocky (one of my elite Twitter followers) recommended this flick. We start off with a man in an Easter Bunny mask holding up a convenience store. He is taking all the cash as he points his shotgun in the clerk’s face and as he leaves with all the money, he stops to shoot the clerk in the face just to be an @$$hole. The man shows up at his girlfriend’s house and takes off his mask letting us know he is a fat guy with stupid looking sideburns named Remington. The woman he is dating has a slow 16 year old son and hasen’t been with the butthead for long. Nicholas the slow son, immediately doesn’t like Remington for one reason or another and Remington doesn’t care much for him either.

Easter is Nicholas’ favorite holiday because it was the last time he saw his father. After being ordered to takeout the trash, Nicholas meets a bum that gives him a white rabbit in exchange for bottles and cans to recycle. Nicholas walks in and sees Remington and his mom making out and Nicholas runs up to his room upset and plays with his rabbit. Later that night Remington wakes up hearing noises coming from Nicholas’ room and threatens his rabbits life in exchange for Nicholas lying to his mother to say they really get along well. The next morning (Easter) Nicholas’ mother gets called in to work leaving Nicholas and Remington alone together. Remington calls a disabled pedophile to have ‘relations’ with Nicholas in exchange for a large sum of money. The pedophile comes over with money in hand and Remington leaves to pick up hookers to bring back to the house. As the pedophile guy makes his way into Nicholas’ room he finds it empty. As he kneels down to check under the bed he sees someone in an Easter bunny mask and he gets cut with a machete.

As the pedophile writhes in pain on the floor the masked Easter bunny makes its way over and drills through the man’s head killing him. Meanwhile Remington is getting some coke hookers and is driving back to the house while snorting lines off of body parts. He shows up to the house and his ‘dates’ get killed one by one. As Remington notices the pedo-guy is dead he calls for his hookers to leave and then notices one dead. He runs downstairs to find the masked figure stabbing the other’s body repeatedly with a piece of broken glass. As he comes to fight the bunny person it turns around and slashes his throat. As Remington gargles his own blood it is revealed that the Easter bunny killer is Nicholas’ mother, which is a twist to an extent because it would’ve appeared that the killer was Nicholas.

Nicholas’ mother calls him down to see the bloodbath she had committed out of her love for him. He comes downstairs unphased by the horror and plays with his rabbit. The homicidal mother revealed that she hid and watched Remington say mean things to her boy just like his father had done. Nicholas’s father didn’t want him anymore and on Easter he had threatened his life. Nicholas’ mother hit him over the head and burned him to death. Anyone that treats her son badly gets to die! As Remington takes his last gasp of air there is a knock at the door, it’s the bum that had given Nicholas the rabbit. It is revealed that he is Nicholas’ father and he has been watching them from a distance making sure they were safe. He admitted he was wrong for what he had done and he is accepted back in the family saying “lets clean up these bodies and start a family”. The end. I rate this movie a 4/10 for its mediocre story and character development.
