The Plot

Terry Hoitz’s past mistakes in the line of duty and Allen Gamble’s reluctance to take risks have landed them the roles of the “Other Guys”, disgraced New York City police detectives relegated to filling out paperwork for cocky hero cops Danson and Highsmith. The mismatched duo must look past their differences when they take on a high-profile investigation of shady capitalist David Ershon and attempt to fill the shoes of the notoriously reckless officers they idolize.

The Verdict

Over all I like the comedy team of Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. A lot of the people talking about this movie said that Will was funny but Mark kept bringing it down, but thats what makes it funny! You need a balance to the goofy idiot in a movie, and I think they played well together. The hilarious character traits of Will Ferrell’s character was what really set the movie up perfect… That and seeing Michael Keaton in a movie again lol. Just thinking of the police department as this high school with the ‘rock stars’ as the Jocks, and ‘the other guys’ as the nerds was funny in itself.

If you see this movie and don’t find it funny at all, you’re probably one of two things.
1) Not a Will Ferrell Fan.
2) You’re trying not to like it.

I rate this movie a 7/10
